The GFS "Power Rails" are our most BRUTAL performer.
We
start with our most powerful ceramic magnets, extra wide and deep, with
chromed rails. We wind these as hot as we can- a ferocious 15.8K for
the bridge and a strong 10K for the neck. The overwound coil and the
super hot magnets make for a super efficient motor... The Power Rails
can hang with even the hottest active pickups!
The sound is
thoroughly modern, with a warm vintage PAF style bottom end. Output
levels are very high, much, much higher than the impedance would
suggest. We think the Power Rails are an especially good pairing with a
modern amplifier. They'll fatten and chunk up even the most digital
sounding modeling amp, and through a good tube amp it's a dream come
true.
From hard-edged classic rock to the most hard core metal, the Power Rails deliver.
They're
meticulously vacuum potted in paraffin wax, and are four wire for easy
coil tapping. The non-ferrous baseplate is proudly stamped with the
famous "GFS" logo, and they feature extra long leads, 16" for the
Bridge units and a full 20" for the neck pickups!
As with all
GFS pickups, they come retail boxed complete with a correct height
black trim ring, screws and springs and our famous fully illustrated
