WHY?? Well these guitars made it through all of our rigorous quality inspections during production...but the very final step- the holes for the Stop Tailpiece, were drilled at a 2 degree angle rather than a zero degree angle. A "SLIGHT" issue for sure, but we rejected the entire production run.
When our manufacturing partner made a deal with us to sell them off, we realized we could offer a ridiculous $100 discount. They intonate perfectly, look great and sound amazing. These are REAL glued-in setneck guitars with REAL African Mahogany back and neck. Not basswood, not some cheapo wood. These use REAL GFS Kwikplug pickups, so you can swap em out in seconds. These use premium tuners and medium jumbo nickel-silver frets.
At this price grab a few... if you're really a perfectionist you CAN change the stop tailpiece angle. Just pull the stud, glue in a 1/2" diameter maple dowel... redrill at the right angle and reassemble. BUT- We've had a few of these in our studio for weeks and nobody ever notices... and they are really great playing guitars!
