Description

GFS Metal Foil Pickups offer a unique combination of fullness, sweetness and crystalline, transparent high end. These use custom made bar magnets and vintage style scatterwound coils.

The covers are all triple-chromed "German Silver", baseplate thin brass, and the entire assembly thoroughly wax potted for squeal-free performance.

These are the double coil Metal Foil pickups that will mount in any standard humbucker location. In full humbucker mode they are noise cancelling. Each pickup uses a pair of custom molded Ferrite magnet that gives you much more presence and a faster attack than a standard pickup. These are surprisingly loud and full but with a transparent "Kerrang" style high end that will remind you of Lipstick tube pickups. We have three versions: 4K, 5K and6K. Each may be used for bridge or neck.

For a typical guitar we'd suggest the 6K for the bridge and the 4K for the neck. For a brighter more crystalline bridge sound use the 5K in that position, for a thicker, warmer neck sound use a 5k in that position. Each pickup comes with a 15" long lead that may be soldered to your existing pots and switch.

These are coil tappable, and when configured with a Kwikplug coil-tap harness you will have single coil for bridge and neck, with noise cancelling in the in-between position. This pickup is compatible with any Kwikplug humbucker harness.
